I have seen lots of old Pakistani Movies. And I can say with confidence that our movies of 50′s, 60′s and 70′s were at par with Indian movies. Our songs, music, stars, directors. a long list/ Who can forget Khuwaja Khursheed Anwar, Rasheed Attre, Master Inayat Hussain, Feroze Nizami, Nisar bazmi, Sohail Rana, Basheer Ahmad, Hasan lateef, Baba Chishti and many more music directors. W had poets like Qateel Shifayee, Tanveer naqvi, Himayat Ali Shayer, Khuwaja Pervez, even faiz Sahab and Jalib sahab wrote some songs for films, Josh malihabadi wrote songs for Aag ka darya. Direscctors like W.Z.Ahmad, Hasan tariq, Anwar Kamal Pasha, Nazeer Saab, Luqman Saab, S.Suleman and many many more. Heroins..we had Sabiha Khanum, Noor jehan, Musarrat Nazeer, Laila, Neelo, Shamim Ara, Zeba, deeba, Babra Shareef, Comedians like Lehri, Zareef, Munawar zaref, Nirala, and do not forget Nazar saab. wow….how rich our film industry was….alas we lost every thing. As soon as General Zia came…we started our journey backward. I still remember films from east pakistan. Chanda, talash, aakhri station, soye nadya jagay pani, eendhan, darshan, chakori. Stars like shabnam, Rehman, Gori, directors Khan Ataur Rehman, Ehtasham, Nazurul Islam, Music Directors basheer Ahmad, Robin Ghosh, singers Firdousi begum..wow what a song she sang:
Yeh aarzu jawan jawan yeh chandni dhuwan dhuwan,
pukartay phirain batao hum tumhain kahan kahan.
We should be proud of our industry that once was.
That’s 100% true.Still we enjoy only those movies to recapitulate our old memories.Particularly Waheed, Zeba starrer movies.
Dear Mr. Amjad
you are little wrong, just like to make you correction with kind about our country…..now east part named is Bangladesh, we are so proud about our country Bangladesh, as a nation Bangalee which by constitution as people’s republic of Bangladesh, state language is Bangla, our father of a nation Bangabondhu Sheik Mujibar Rahman and international language as so as per united nation, we imposed international language day as 21st February, as we had fought for our mother language against urdu though majority were from former east pakistan, but regret, that time west Pakistani ruling govt. force us to converse in urdu, which we do not u/stand urdu as a foreign language. h/ever on 1971 we got freedom from Pakistan after having big fight and at last we snatched victory from you. we will never forget such brutal torture, gang raped, mass killing, destroy, loot, set fire ablaze total bangladesh by Pakistani Army and few local so called islam pasand razakar. that time you common people did not protest and did not do anything against this injustice and un equal war. now got doubt !! are you people Muslim ????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!! we beleive in secularism. we are not Muslim country, but majority Muslim, by constitution we are ‘people’s republic of Bangladesh’ mind it. we respect to all religion, not like arrogant Pakistani… sorry to say……

We should always love our products no matter how good or bad they are even now when we are having a very bad patch on pakistani movies. i suggest the cinema hall owners should again start showing pakistani movies from 1960 onward.
SUDHIR was Pakistan’s first super star action film hero. He was very successful in both Urdu and Punjabi films. He had a long film career of 38 years and appeared mainly in main roles in films. His first film was before partition, New Hindustan Film’s released Farz was directed by Narijan and the heroine was Ragni..
hi looking for movie Bandish to buy.
In my opinion, the Urdu Movies Age was gone with the arrival of the Punjabi Movies Age. In 1960s and 1970s, there are lots of SuperHit Urdu Movies; however, with the advent of the Punjabi Movies, the talent in every field of Movie was shifted to the Punjabi fims.
In the present era, Syed Noor, is one of the best Movie Maker in Pakistan. I have watch his movies both Urdu & Punjabi, and I have been impressed by his movies.
May Allah Prosper and give long long LIFE to Pakistan, ameen.
I have watched both his Urdu & Punjabi Movies, and I am impressed by his movies.
Thanks,
Arsalan, USA
